Basic Life Support (BLS)® Course Options

"BLS Courses are designed for healthcare professionals and other personnel who need to know how to perform CPR and other basic cardiovascular life support skills in a wide variety of in-facility and prehospital settings. BLS is geared towards prehospital providers, like EMTs, paramedics, fire fighters, and in-facility hospital providers.

 

Upon successful completion of the course, students receive a course completion card, valid for two years. The BLS Instructor-led course teaches both single-rescuer and team basic life support skills for application in both prehospital and in-facility environments, with a focus on High-Quality CPR and team dynamics. Please contact your employer to ensure that you are selecting the correct course."

BLS Full Certification Provider Course is designed for any participant who needs an AHA BLS Provider certification, takes approximately 4.5 hours to complete, including skills practice, skills testing, and written exam.

BLS Renewal Provider Course is designed for any provider who has a current AHA BLS Provider certification, takes approximately 3 hours to complete, including skills practice, skills testing, and written exam.

HeartCode® BLS Blended Learning

"Blended learning is a combination of eLearning, in which a student completes part of the course in a self-directed manner, followed by a hands-on skills session. Students must complete the BLS HeartCode online course at elearning.heart.org and bring completion certificate to class.

The student has a choice of completing a pre-hospital or in-hospital contextualized track. After completing the online portion, students will attend a structured, Instructor-led hands-on session that focuses on meaningful skills practice, team scenarios, and skills testing.

Upon successful completion of both the online and in-classroom course, students receive a course completion card, valid for two years. Please contact your employer to ensure that you are selecting the correct course."

Heartsaver® Course Options

"Heartsaver First Aid CPR and AED is geared towards anyone with little or no medical training who needs a course completion card for their job, regulatory (e.g., OSHA), or other requirements or anyone who wants to be prepared for an emergency in any setting.

Course covers First aid basics, Medical emergencies, Injury emergencies, Environmental emergencies, and Preventing illness and injuryAdult CPR and AED use, Opioid-associated life-threatening emergencies, Optional modules in Child CPR AED and Infant CPR can also be included.

 

Upon successful completion of the course, students receive a course completion card, valid for two years. Please contact your employer to ensure that you are selecting the correct course."

"Heartsaver CPR AED is geared for anyone with limited or no medical training who needs a course completion card in CPR and AED use to meet job, regulatory, or other requirements. This course is a video-based, instructor-led course that teaches adult and child CPR and AED use, infant CPR, and how to relieve choking in adults, children, and infants. Upon successful completion of the course, students receive a course completion card, valid for two years. Please contact your employer to ensure that you are selecting the correct course."

Heartsaver® Bloodborne Pathogens Course

"Heartsaver Bloodborne Pathogens course is designed specifically for workers with a reasonable chance of coming into contact with bloodborne pathogens such as correctional officers, childcare workers, security guards, maintenance workers, school personnel, hotel housekeepers, health and fitness club staff and tattoo artists. This course is designed to meet OSHA requirements for bloodborne pathogens training when paired with site-specific instruction. Upon completion of the online course, students receive a course completion certificate that can be presented to employers.

This course uses the PACT acronym (Protect, Act, Clean, Tell) and tagline, “Make a PACT, Know How to Act™,” to help students learn and easily recall bloodborne pathogens training.

 

A tear-out course participation card is included on the back cover of the Heartsaver Bloodborne Pathogens Student Workbook valid for one year. Please contact your employer to ensure that you are selecting the correct course."
